Frequently asked questions
Do you use standard ceremonies?
No . Your ceremony is too important to take a "slot name in here" approach to it. Every ceremony I perform is uniquely created in order to fully celebrate you and your intention for your ceremony.
Will you give us a resource book to choose the various parts of our ceremony from?
Because I am totally committed to ensuring your ceremony reflects who you are and your vision for your ceremony, I do not use a mix-and-match technique to create the ceremony - nor, for that matter, do I expect you to do the work (which is what happens with this technique).
While this is the most common form of ceremony development used by celebrants because it requires little ongoing effort from the celebrant, the results can be less than stellar, and almost invariably involve copyright infringement because I have yet to see a celebrant resource book that doesn't largely consist of material taken from the internet. So your ceremony will not have a consistent voice or style throughout and could feel quite artificial.
I will use a number of
mechanisms to ensure that I understand your needs, values and wishes
for your ceremony, working in close conjunction with you to facilitate
development of a unique ceremony. While this is more work for me I feel
it works much better for you and for your guests.
And I do not perform the
ceremony until you have signed off on every word.
What will you wear for our
ceremony?
Will we get a certificate?
Absolutely. I create very professional certificates, fully individualised, for each ceremony.
What is your privacy policy?
Any information provided to me is provided in confidence.
Information is stored in a secure location, is accessed only by me, and is kept no longer than is needed for the purposes of your ceremony, at which time it is destroyed by shredding. I do not pass on, or otherwise use, any information provided as part of arrangements for your ceremony for any purpose . I may request your permission to provide your contact details to others considering me as a celebrant, but I will not provide such details unless I have your permission in writing.
